Our Story: We started our work in photography almost a decade ago with the same problem that every other starry-eyed photographer faced. “How do we make a living?” and more importantly, “How do we make a living while doing work that matters to us?”
“If you want to get rich in photography, do weddings.” The faultless expert advice among industry veterans had always been to go after the big, shiny projects. After all, this is the reason why we’re in this career: to be successful. But taking pictures of people staring into each other’s souls didn’t sound exciting at all.
So after about a year of making ends meet taking on a bunch of unrelated photography work–from baby showers to fashion portraits–it finally hit us. Why aren’t there any photography studios focusing on food?
We loved food. The craft had plenty of depth. There was demand. And most importantly, we could be the best at it. And that’s how PhotoKitchen was born.
Over the year, we’ve added new services from the new things we’ve learned. From our small origins as a focused food photography studio, (we’re still small!) we now help food companies ranging from small neighborhood restaurants to global mega corporations create beautiful food content: photos, videos, styling, and recipe development.
And while we’re thankful that we’ve grown a lot, we’re still putting our best work out there and we wont’ stop until…well, we just won’t stop.
We always eat with our eyes first. Food photography makes sure that when people see your food, they form a great first impression eventually converting them into loyal customers.

Food that looks good on your table will not necessarily look good on a photograph. Food styling encompasses advanced cooking techniques, synthetic food production, and careful arrangement of elements to make sure each dish looks perfect for the camera.
Food cannot be presented without props: vessels, utensils, and all types of materials that help a food scene tell a story. We help curate, purchase, and arrange the set and its elements to make sure each photo or video not only looks incredible, but also makes sense in its context.
